US investment-grade bond issuance reached $1.681 trillion through July 2026, according to SIFMA data, as borrowing tied to artificial intelligence infrastructure accelerated and began testing how much new debt markets could absorb. Reuters data showed Amazon, Alphabet, Meta and Oracle sold about $194 billion of bonds in 2026 through early July, while Goldman Sachs expects those four plus Microsoft to raise about $250 billion this year and $400 billion in 2027. Goldman also estimated global AI-related debt supply at $489 billion so far this year, above its full-2025 estimate of $322 billion, and Robeco's Asia fixed-income head reportedly warned that roughly $1 trillion in AI-related capital spending could further swell bond supply and keep fixed-income markets volatile. Investors have shown more price resistance as spreads widened, Amazon paid extra yield on a recent $25 billion sale, and long-dated Treasury yields have also come under pressure.
