Separate reports described two reactivations of early-era Bitcoin holdings. Galaxy Research said an address beginning with 1Emi, first funded on June 13, 2011, moved its full 8.54 BTC balance in block 962770, a transfer worth about $538,000 and implying a gain of roughly 461,981% at an average cost basis near $14 if sold. A separate report said a wallet created on Aug. 10, 2012 moved 212 BTC worth $13.72 million at a cited Bitcoin price of $64,761, versus an original value of $2,346 at $11.07 per coin, implying a 584,725% paper gain if fully sold; the coins moved from a legacy P2PKH address to an unmarked Bech32 wallet in multiple batches before being consolidated. In both cases, the owners remain unidentified, and the movements do not by themselves show selling because long-dormant coins are often shifted for security, custody, or wallet reorganization. The report on the 2012 wallet added that some long-term holders may be relocating assets after a Coldcard vulnerability was tied to the theft of nearly 2,000 BTC, though no direct connection to that wallet was established.
