Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, has joined Anthropic's Project Glasswing and plans to deploy Claude Mitosis 5 across its entire operating environment within weeks to identify software vulnerabilities. The company said findings will be folded into its existing security programs, while flaws discovered in open-source software will be shared with project maintainers. Payward Co-Chief Executive Officer Arjun Sethi said the aim is to use AI to improve defensive security in systems that run continuously, including exchange, custody and payment infrastructure, which he described as prime targets for attackers. Anthropic has expanded access to Mitosis 5 beyond U.S. government agencies that operate and defend critical infrastructure to selected technology and financial-sector companies, with broader deployment planned later as safeguards are added. Other participants named in the initiative include Amazon Web Services, Apple, Google, Microsoft and JPMorgan Chase. The move places a major digital-asset infrastructure operator among the early private-sector users of a restricted AI security model whose capabilities are being rolled out in stages because tools that find vulnerabilities can also be misused.
