OpenAI ARR tops $40 billion as July growth exceeds 20%

OpenAI's annual recurring revenue run rate has reportedly surpassed $40 billion, roughly double the $20 billion level projected for the end of 2025. July ARR grew by more than 20% from the prior month, with enterprise ARR rising 32%, indicating business customers are expanding faster than the overall company base. Sarah Friar previously said ARR climbed from $10 billion in June 2025 to $20 billion at the end of 2025, then to $25 billion in February this year and $40 billion in July. At a $40 billion ARR run rate, monthly revenue would be about $3.3 billion. OpenAI also appointed Dali Rajic as chief revenue officer, as its products reached more than 1 billion weekly active users and over 2 million enterprise customers, both about double from a year earlier. Rajic previously served as president and chief operating officer of Wiz, the Alphabet-owned cybersecurity company. The company has cut prices for some models and added Fast and Ultra Fast modes for its top-tier Sol model. TheElec also reported that OpenAI and Anthropic have confidentially submitted IPO (initial public offering) filings to the SEC (U.S. securities regulator).
