Snowflake named Lee Yong-seok as its new Korea country manager, tasking him with overseeing all domestic business operations and expanding sales and partnerships around its AI Data Cloud platform. The company said on the 18th that Lee brings more than 20 years of enterprise software experience from Google Cloud and Microsoft Korea. Before joining Snowflake, he spent six years at Google Cloud starting in 2020, where he led digital transformation and go-to-market strategies for large enterprise customers across AI, data, security and infrastructure. Earlier, he spent 16 years at Microsoft Korea covering SMB and retail partner businesses, public-sector operations in government, education and healthcare, and enterprise commercial work for the manufacturing and retail sectors. Snowflake said Lee will focus on supporting enterprise customers and partners across industries including manufacturing, finance and retail as it deepens its push into South Korea, where rising demand for data modernization and AI adoption is increasing the market's strategic importance. Lee said he aims to build a collaborative ecosystem in which domestic enterprise customers and partners grow together by connecting data and AI to tangible business outcomes. Jon Robertson, vice president of Asia-Pacific and Japan at Snowflake, said Lee's leadership and experience with enterprise customers would help South Korean clients and partners turn data and AI into business results.
