Cirkla plans to begin production in the first quarter of 2027 at a new Gainesville, Georgia, facility that it describes as the first U.S. plant dedicated exclusively to scaling molded fiber meat packaging. Located at the Gainesville 85 Business Center in Hall County, the plant will produce Cirkla's full range of molded fiber products, including Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) and overwrap trays, for protein processors and national grocery retailers. The project is intended to shorten lead times, strengthen supply-chain resilience and expand domestic capacity as demand grows for plant-fiber alternatives to rigid plastics. Cirkla said its trays have been validated on platforms covering the majority of the U.S. protein processor installed base, while production in India has demonstrated the technology in commercial environments. The facility is expected to employ more than 100 people at full capacity and will use patent-pending technology, precision automation, in-house quality laboratories and expanded finishing capabilities.
