XRP remained around $1 after rebounding from a brief dip below that level, while new exchange data pointed to a gradual reduction in reserves across three major trading venues. CryptoQuant author Amr Taha said XRP reserves on Upbit, Bithumb and Binance fell by roughly 240 million XRP, or 2.2%, from about 11.08 billion XRP in late May and early June to about 10.84 billion XRP on Aug. 19. Upbit remained the dominant holder with about 6.40 billion XRP, down from 6.51 billion on May 30, while Bithumb's reserves slipped to about 1.82 billion from 1.85 billion and Binance's holdings fell to 2.62 billion from 2.72 billion, the largest percentage decline among the three. The data leaves South Korean exchanges heavily concentrated in tracked XRP supply. Upbit and Bithumb together hold about 8.22 billion XRP, or nearly 76% of reserves across the three platforms, suggesting a large share of immediately tradable XRP remains centered on Korean venues even as balances edge lower. Lower exchange reserves can reduce the supply readily available for sale on centralized platforms, though the shift alone does not show whether investors are accumulating XRP or simply moving tokens between exchanges and private wallets. Large-holder activity has also intensified. Santiment data showed XRP transactions worth more than $1 million jumped 280% this week, rising from 9.9 to more than 38 transactions. XRP was trading around $1, down 9.22% over the past month and roughly 47% year to date, while still about 73% below its July 2025 all-time high of $3.66. The combination of weaker prices, stronger whale transfers and previously firm network activity has kept attention on whether large investors are accumulating during the drawdown. Earlier in August, XRP staged a near-10% rebound from around $0.9956 to about $1.10 as futures volume approached $2.95 billion, open interest stood near $2.8 billion and U.S. XRP investment products held 994.72 million tokens. Network activity had also strengthened, with 49,929 active addresses recorded in one day, while Ripple-related institutional and regulatory developments added to the broader backdrop.
