Pi Network said it will update App Studio pricing starting August 24, replacing the long-standing 0.25 PI fee for creating an application and another 0.25 PI fee for editing one with a model that more closely reflects the actual cost of the underlying AI services. The project said it will not add a markup to those AI costs in standard pricing, but developers whose apps show real utility and usage from distinct users can continue to qualify for the earlier subsidized rate, with eligibility reviewed regularly. The change is designed to stop subsidizing experimentation, testing and spam, and to direct resources toward applications that attract real users. The update follows earlier App Studio utility expansions, including backend infrastructure and app-planning capabilities added in July. Separately, PI was rejected again around $0.09 after briefly climbing to almost $0.10 earlier this month, traded about 4% to 5% below that level after Friday and Saturday rejections, and had a market capitalization still below $1 billion, ranking it 69th among cryptocurrencies by that measure.
