Whitechain is relaunching as a distribution-first Ethereum Layer 2 built on the OP Stack, arguing that user acquisition, liquidity and sustained activity have become a bigger obstacle for many Web3 projects than raw technical performance. The network is part of W Group, which says its global fintech ecosystem reaches more than 40 million users worldwide, including WhiteBIT, a cryptocurrency exchange with more than 10 million users. Whitechain says that ecosystem reach will sit alongside funding and technical support to help projects move from testnet development to scaling. Its relaunch is structured around three tracks: a Builder Program for early-stage teams with discretionary funding of up to $300,000 per project for eligible applicants, Strategic Ecosystem Deals for established protocols with demonstrated TVL and active user bases, and Chain Expansion Support for multichain protocols seeking additional users without exclusivity requirements. On August 18, Whitechain plans to open its public testnet, funding applications and migration track to Web3 teams. As it moves toward mainnet, the network says it intends to add core infrastructure including a native DEX, oracle and bridge.
