The U.S. Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar against a basket of major currencies, fell 0.65% intraday and touched 99, its first move to that level since June, according to Gate market data. It later closed at 99.657 on August 19, up 0.02%. The euro traded at 1.1576 dollars, the pound at 1.3534 dollars, and the dollar at 159.6 yen, 0.8125 Swiss francs, 1.3906 Canadian dollars and 9.5395 Swedish kronor.
