Canton Fair said rising back-to-school demand for stationery, learning tools and education technology is reshaping writing instruments, with exhibitors emphasizing sustainability, refillable designs and AI-powered features. Products highlighted in the release included pens made with PLA biobased materials from renewable plant resources such as corn, ballpoint pens made from 100% recycled ocean plastic with Global Recycled Standard certification, and reusable or wood-saving stationery designs aimed at cutting waste. The fair also pointed to smart translation pens that add multilingual translation, content organization, mind map generation and information assistance to traditional handwriting tools. The release framed these products as examples of how buyers prepare months ahead for seasonal sales, and said the 140th Canton Fair will open in October during the 70th anniversary of its founding with a 1.55 million-square-meter exhibition area and more than 30,000 enterprises.
