AiMOGA Robotics, the humanoid robot unit incubated by Chery Automobile (09973.HK), is preparing for a potential initial public offering to fund technology investment and strengthen governance, transparency and operating standards. Zhang Guibing, head of AiMOGA and president of Chery International, said the company is discussing several listing venues but provided no timing or location. Founded by Chery in January 2025, AiMOGA has delivered more than 3,000 robots globally, including 2,000 overseas, and operates in more than 60 countries and regions. Company disclosures also included 300 humanoid robots and 1,000 robot dogs shipped by the end of 2025. AiMOGA aims to deliver 10,000 humanoid robots worldwide next year. Its products range from robots deployed in Chery 4S stores to service and companion robots overseas, while 110 humanoid police robots are operating across multiple Chinese cities for traffic management, crowd guidance and public-safety campaigns. The IPO preparations come as investor interest and competition in China’s robotics sector intensify. Zhang expects industry consolidation but warned that cost competition will remain fierce, and said humanoid robots could take about a decade to mature before rapid adoption.
