Sei has begun the phased rollout of Eidos through its v6.6 mainnet upgrade, rebuilding the storage layer of the three-part Giga roadmap alongside the Autobahn consensus and Ares execution initiatives. The upgrade is designed to remove storage bottlenecks as Sei targets 200,000 transactions per second, 5 gigagas of throughput and finality below 400 milliseconds. The initial release separates EVM state into a dedicated database and improves pruning, while FlatKV and LtHash state processing, LittDB block and receipt storage, a new receipt store and off-node archival systems are scheduled for subsequent releases. Sei says the migration can run while the network remains online, with existing and replacement storage systems operating in parallel. Testing cited by the network showed faster cleanup, stable block times and verified data integrity, although storage-engine benchmarks should not be interpreted as blockchain transaction throughput.
