Blockchain security firm PeckShieldAlert reported on Aug. 19, 2026, that about 1 billion MemeCore (M) tokens were minted on the BNB Smart Chain through MemeCore’s cross-chain bridge. Two batches of roughly 463 million tokens originated from wallets 0xfdea...447a7BF and 0x4388...C919dd7 before being consolidated into 0x69cB...F6FF4681, whose holdings were valued at about $1 million. On-chain data showed no corresponding token lock, burn or collateral deposit on the native MemeCore chain. Analysts said the activity did not resemble a typical external hack or unauthorized exploit and instead appeared consistent with actions by the project team, bridge operators or other authorized parties. The tokens remained in the destination wallet, while M traded between about $1.05 and $1.18 with limited immediate market reaction. The issuance has renewed scrutiny of MemeCore’s token distribution and bridge operations, particularly because the project’s circulating supply was near 1.3 billion tokens and earlier concerns had been raised about insider concentration and supply transparency.
