Hong Kong's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 3.7% in the three months ending July 2026, its lowest level since the period ending August 2025. Unemployment increased by 6,000 from the previous three-month period to 145,700, while total employment rose by 1,500 to 3.648 million. Unemployment among people aged 20 to 29 climbed to 8.4% from 7.5%, and the underemployment rate increased to 1.7% from 1.6%. Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun said economic expansion should support overall labor-market conditions, although fresh graduates, school leavers and external headwinds could pressure unemployment and corporate hiring sentiment. Luxembourg's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held at 6.3% in July 2026, unchanged from June and above 5.9% in July 2025. The number of unemployed people fell by 166 month-on-month to 20,399, while total employment rose by 447 to 304,555. Incoming cross-border workers increased by 518 to 235,774.
