KITE has deployed a new ERC-20 contract on Ethereum after abnormal transfers on the mainnet were traced to compromised wallet addresses, prompting a 1:1 token migration for legitimate holders. Bitget said it will support the contract swap by suspending KITE deposits and withdrawals while leaving trading unaffected, and will recover user balances before distributing the new KITE tokens at a 1:1 ratio. The exchange published the old and new Ethereum contract addresses and said deposits and withdrawals for the old token will no longer be supported after the swap, while services for the new token will resume in a separate announcement once the migration is complete. The foundation previously said the incident caused no loss of user or project assets, took a snapshot at block 25,692,498, and will exclude wallets controlled by the hacker from the replacement distribution. Users holding KITE in self-custody wallets or on centralized exchanges were told they do not need to take action, while cross-chain functionality and liquidity are expected to resume gradually after migration and security checks are completed.
