Relativity Networks raises $22 million to accelerate hollow-core fiber

Relativity Networks is commercializing hollow-core fiber, which replaces the solid glass core of conventional optical cable with air. Its ChronoCore technology is designed to transmit data roughly 30% to 47% faster than standard fiber and reduce latency by about 32%, to approximately 3.4 microseconds per kilometer. The Orlando-based company has raised approximately $22 million in its latest financing, although a newer breakdown describes the round as roughly $19.5 million and total funding as approximately $30 million. Relativity also has a $40 million follow-on order from an unnamed leading hyperscaler. The company is targeting AI hyperscale data centers, where lower latency could allow computing campuses to be located farther apart or closer to abundant, inexpensive power while maintaining synchronized performance. Its partnership with Prysmian, announced in March 2025, is intended to support production in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and the United States.
