Arsenal has agreed to sign Aston Villa center-back Ezri Konsa for £51 million plus performance-related add-ons, with the 28-year-old England international expected to sign a multi-year contract at the Emirates after completing a medical. The deal, reported on Aug. 19, 2026, follows earlier Arsenal offers of about £30 million to £40 million and gives the Premier League champions defensive cover after injuries to William Saliba and Jurriën Timber. Konsa can play centrally or at right-back and was part of England's 2026 World Cup squad. Villa, which had sought close to £60 million, will receive significant funds to reinvest, while its reported rejection of a nearly £40 million bid from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal for Ollie Watkins shows the club has continued to set its own terms in the transfer market.
