UMI Stone and Opustone are highlighting supply reliability, fabrication efficiency and long-term surface durability as kitchen and bath professionals face a difficult 2026 market. The National Kitchen & Bath Association's 2Q26 Kitchen & Bath Market Index, released July 21, found that consumer uncertainty was the leading growth constraint, cited by 49% of professionals, followed by rising building material costs at 42%; 36% said tariffs and trade issues would hurt growth over the next six months. Firms expected revenue to decline 2% in 2026, compared with a 4% growth projection one quarter earlier, while more than a third of design firms said clients shifted to lower price points, the highest share since tracking began in 2023 and a 13-point increase from the first quarter. UMI Stone, a Naples, Fla.-based quartz and natural stone supplier, said deep inventory, dependable logistics and fabricator-ready lines can help fabricators, builders and dealers limit delays, rework, idle-crew costs and skilled-labor pressure. Opustone, a South Florida luxury natural stone, porcelain and tile distributor, is urging homeowners and designers to evaluate materials by lifetime ownership cost rather than installation price alone. Its range includes marble, quartzite, onyx, porcelain and specialty tile, displayed as full slabs at showrooms in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Both brands operate within the Construction Resources family, which acquired Opustone in April 2025.
