Federal Reserve Chair Warsh proposed reducing the Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) scheduled policy meetings from eight to six annually, according to meeting minutes. The proposal would space meetings roughly two months apart, allowing more information to accumulate and giving policymakers and Federal Reserve staff additional time to research strategic monetary-policy issues. Warsh sought committee members' views, but no decision was made and the number of meetings will not change this year. Fed Governor Christopher Waller separately said the 2026 schedule will remain unchanged.
