OKX has barred employees in Hong Kong and staff traveling through mainland China from using Anthropic's Claude after its corporate account was briefly suspended and later restored, as the exchange tightens controls to align with Anthropic's ban on Claude use in Hong Kong and mainland China. The company said some Hong Kong-based use may not have fully complied with geographic access policies, and it will reroute affected requests to other AI models. OKX spends $6 million to $8 million a month across leading large language model providers, has encouraged employees to use AI in daily work and made AI proficiency part of performance reviews, underscoring how regional licensing rules are complicating AI adoption even for global financial and crypto firms. Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan have also restricted Claude access for Hong Kong staff.
