Solana has shortened its slot time, the interval for producing network blocks, to about 350 milliseconds for the first time since mainnet launch and plans to reduce it further to 300 milliseconds. A related draft lowers per-slot compute limits to prevent overload, increasing pressure on leader handoffs and off-chain timing without raising the theoretical compute-units-per-second ceiling. Solana Weekly News also reported that tokenized equities on the network reached an all-time high of $465 million. Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan said investors have underestimated public-chain progress and that the capacity problems seen during the 2019-2021 bull market no longer exist.
