Six-time NBA All-Star DeMar DeRozan agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the Denver Nuggets after the Sacramento Kings waived him earlier this offseason. The move followed Denver’s five-team sign-and-trade sending restricted free agent Peyton Watson to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a four-year, $88 million contract. Denver received an unprotected 2031 first-round pick from Cleveland, a 2032 second-round pick from the Sacramento Kings and forward Julian Reese from Washington. Other reported components sent Cleveland guard Max Strus to the Los Angeles Clippers, while Cleveland sent Tre Mann and Los Angeles’ 2027 second-round pick to Washington. DeRozan, 37, averaged 18.4 points, 4.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 77 games for Sacramento last season. Watson averaged a career-high 14.6 points for Denver in 2025-26.
