Ferrovial has been selected to deliver Tennessee’s I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes, a 26-mile project between Nashville and Murfreesboro that the company describes as the state’s largest private investment and largest single capital investment, as well as its first public-private partnership. Ferrovial-led consortium DriveTN, which includes Transurban and Tikehau Star Infra, will finance, design, build, operate and maintain the $9.2 billion project, with projected concession value of $24.8 billion to Tennessee. Choice lanes in both directions would run from I-40 east of downtown Nashville to I-840 near Murfreesboro, offering drivers who pay to use them more consistent speeds while reducing congestion in the free general-purpose lanes. Ferrovial CEO Ignacio Madridejos said the project is intended to improve mobility, connectivity and long-term economic growth.
