DS Dansuk (017860) established DS Orvion, a subsidiary dedicated to its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) business, to accelerate production-facility construction and coordinate investment, technology adoption and supply-chain development. DS Orvion will take full charge of the Gunsan Net-Zero Complex at the Gunsan National Industrial Complex in North Jeolla Province, where DS Dansuk plans to build a SAF plant on about 70,000 pyeong, or 231,881 square meters. The company will develop domestic and international supply chains from feedstock procurement through SAF production and serve as DS Dansuk’s control tower for the business. South Korea has designated SAF production technology as a national strategic technology, and international flights departing from the country will be required to use a 1% SAF blend from 2027. DS Dansuk completed SAF feedstock pretreatment facilities at its Pyeongtaek Plant 1 in November 2024 and is diversifying supplies as it targets annual SAF production of 300,000 tons by 2030. The name Orvion combines Orbit and Vision, reflecting the company’s stated aim of pioneering a new direction in future energy.
