Malaysia’s exports rose 38.0% year on year to MYR 193.6 billion in July 2026, exceeding the 34.3% market forecast but slowing from a revised 45.5% increase in June. Manufactured goods led the advance, gaining 42.6% and accounting for 89.8% of exports, with electrical and electronics products representing 51%. Exports increased to the United States, Singapore, China, Taiwan and the European Union. Separately, imports climbed 36.4% year on year to a record MYR 171.1 billion in July, extending annual growth to 11 consecutive months as resilient domestic demand, firm economic activity and continued business spending supported inbound trade.
