Lupin Limited said its wholly owned subsidiary VISUfarma B.V. has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Visus Therapeutics Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Tenpoint Therapeutics Holding Limited, for YUVEZZI™ in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. YUVEZZI is a once-daily, dual-agent eye drop containing carbachol and brimonidine tartrate for treating presbyopia, the gradual loss of near vision that typically begins around age 45. VISUfarma will have exclusive rights to regulatory activities, commercialization, marketing, promotion, distribution and sales in the licensed territories, and will make a strategic investment in Visus. Tenpoint and Visus may receive regulatory and commercial milestone payments and tiered royalties based on net sales. YUVEZZI is the first and only approved once-daily dual-agent eye drop for presbyopia and was recently approved by the U.S. FDA (U.S. drug regulator). Tenpoint is advancing its U.S. commercialization and has submitted an MMA in the United Kingdom through the MHRA (UK medicines regulator) International Recognition Procedure. Lupin said the deal strengthens its ophthalmology portfolio and specialty-care strategy, while Tenpoint said it supports broader access to YUVEZZI for patients and eye-care professionals.
