Dodgers president Stan Kasten has made it clear that the team will not be sold, stating there is no process underway to dispose of the franchise. Following Mark Walter's sale of his majority stake in the Lakers and amid federal and insurance-regulatory scrutiny of his business dealings, questions emerged about Walter's control of the Dodgers. Kasten said the Lakers transaction was sui generis and unrelated to the Dodgers, adding that the franchise is very stable, well-managed and has very solid ownership with no changes expected to operations. He dismissed reports of Walter trying to sell his stake in Chelsea FC or cashing out TV deals as mischaracterized and said he knows nothing about the Dodgers' involvement in the investigation. Kasten noted that Walter is gung-ho about continuing to try to win, including next year, and that the sports portfolio will remain intact. He expects the Dodgers to continue far into the future under Walter's ownership.
