Taiwan to open intraday odd-lot trading at 9 a.m. from Dec. 7

Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) will bring forward intraday odd-lot trading, a market for smaller share orders, starting December 7 this year. Order submission will begin at 8:30 a.m., while trading will open at 9 a.m., matching the scheduled opening for round-lot trading and giving more than 5 million active odd-lot investors access from the market open. The change will introduce pre-opening information disclosure and independent delayed-opening mechanisms for the two markets. The TWSE has also launched an Attention and Disposition Zone that consolidates warnings on abnormal trading, securities under stricter trading measures and stocks nearing disposition thresholds. SinoPac Securities upgraded its Big Trader APP to identify pre-collection requirements for disposition stocks, calculate required funds or shares and let investors continue failed orders without re-entering key details. The reforms are part of the TWSE's broader effort to improve transparency, price discovery and orderly trading while continuing to review its market mechanisms.
