Ouster, Inc. (NASDAQ:OUST) CEO and co-founder Angus Pacala said Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) and Alphabet Inc.'s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) Waymo should be viewed as pioneers advancing Physical AI rather than as direct competitors. Ouster is seeking to supply the sensing and perception infrastructure behind autonomous vehicles, robotics and intelligent infrastructure, with its platform certified on NVIDIA Corp.'s (NASDAQ:NVDA) DRIVE and Jetson platforms. The company combines digital lidar, cameras, AI compute and perception software, while its Stereolabs business is seeing accelerating demand. Pacala said customers are moving mature pilots into production, humanoids may use six to 12 cameras and increasingly add lidar for safety and navigation, and the market will ultimately reward systems that operate reliably and safely at scale.
