Beldex raises $8 million to expand privacy infrastructure for AI agents

Beldex, a privacy-focused blockchain infrastructure company, has raised $8 million in a funding round led by Sigma Capital, bringing its total capital raised to $36 million. Nxgen, referred to as NexGen in earlier coverage, NTC, Digital Consensus Fund and EAK Ventures also participated. The round follows two 2023 financings from DWF Labs and Block Alpha that raised a combined $28 million. Beldex plans to use the proceeds for developer tools, confidential applications, protocol security, AI infrastructure and broader ecosystem expansion. Its AI-related work covers privacy-preserving identities, encrypted communications, confidential payments, secure AI execution, data processing and research into fully homomorphic encryption and secure memory. The company is also developing shielded smart contracts, quantum-resistant consensus mechanisms, an EVM-compatible sidechain for sensitive data, a browser-extension wallet, software development kits and bridges to Ethereum, Solana and Base. Beldex’s existing privacy ecosystem includes BChat, BelNet, the Beldex Browser and BNS, while its network uses a masternode network and proof-of-stake consensus. The funding comes as privacy-oriented digital assets outperformed other crypto sectors in the final quarter of 2025 and as research cited by the company found that 65% of organizations experienced at least one security incident linked to an AI agent in the past year.
