Brighton has rejected Liverpool's second offer for Yankuba Minteh, a £60 million bid for the Gambia international, after turning down an initial £50 million proposal around August 20. Brighton reportedly wants closer to £70 million and has valued the winger between £70 million and £80 million. The negotiations come as Liverpool seeks a successor to Mohamed Salah, who has departed, with the player reportedly open to the move. Minteh has recorded nine goals and between eight and nine assists in 66 Premier League appearances for Brighton. Liverpool has also signed Victor Muñoz from Osasuna for £34.5 million and been linked with PSG's Bradley Barcola. Minteh is sidelined by a right leg injury sustained against Roma in pre-season and is expected to return around October, while Brighton's wider injury problems reduce its willingness to sell. The clubs' remaining obstacle is financial, with Brighton having no reported sell-on obligation to Newcastle United.
