Atomiq took all swap routes offline on Aug. 20 after describing sophisticated AI-assisted attacks against its infrastructure. The service had enabled zero-slippage swaps between native Bitcoin, including Lightning Network transactions, and Starknet assets such as strkBTC. No user funds were lost because swaps used trustless escrow secured by Bitcoin’s proof-of-work consensus, while Atomiq’s web application remains available for refunds. Starknet is preparing a replacement Bitcoin integration expected within days, with plans to retain existing swap capabilities and support for strkBTC.
