Adit Singh has joined Mayfield as an infrastructure partner after serving as a partner at Cota Capital, where he focused on early-stage company building across AI and infrastructure. At Mayfield, he will target semiconductor, cybersecurity and physical AI investments. Mayfield, founded in 1969, has deployed roughly $3 billion into AI companies over its lifetime, with 70% of those investments made at the inception stage, and operates a dedicated $250 million AI Start fund for startups across the AI stack. Singh previously helped source and co-lead Foundation Capital’s first funding round in Cerebras, which later went public with Foundation holding roughly 7% and became its third-largest shareholder; Cerebras now trades at a valuation of nearly $50 billion. He also co-founded Neotribe Ventures in 2017 and led it for four years. Mayfield’s semiconductor portfolio includes Alif Semiconductor, Cognichip, Upscale AI and Lumilens, while its cybersecurity investments include Aurascape AI, which raised a $12.8 million seed round led by Mayfield in September 2024. The firm has completed 120 IPOs and more than 225 M&A deals over its lifetime. Singh’s physical AI mandate will cover systems such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation and sensor networks, areas that typically require substantial hardware investment and longer development timelines than software.
