Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said U.S. crypto regulations were written for a different era after attending a White House crypto meeting and joining the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee. He said participants from both the digital-asset and traditional-finance sectors agreed that existing rules are inadequate for current markets and innovation. The meeting addressed the stalled CLARITY Act, which passed the House of Representatives in July 2025 but remains held up in the Senate over ethics provisions, stablecoin rewards and tokenized equities. Garlinghouse said the United States is closer than ever to establishing clearer crypto rules, while noting that about one in four Americans owns digital assets.
