Sui PTBs execute 1,024 Move calls in one atomic transaction

Sui demonstrated at its Basecamp event that Programmable Transaction Blocks, or PTBs, can execute up to 1,024 Move function calls within a single atomic transaction. The design lets an AI agent authenticate, retrieve data, execute financial logic and make payments in one operation that either completes fully or rolls back if any step fails. Sui reports transaction finality of approximately 400 milliseconds, while controlled tests with AI agents reached up to 6.08 million transactions per second, or 6,086,766 TPS in livestream experiments. Sui cautions that such internal test results may not reflect real-world performance. The architecture could support applications in decentralized finance, supply chain management and automated trading. Sui is also a launch partner for Google’s Agentic Payments Protocol, or AP2, a framework intended to let AI agents transact securely and verifiably. Upcoming Basecamp events in Dubai in May 2025 and Singapore in October 2026 point to an expansion into markets with institutional and regulatory interest in AI and blockchain infrastructure. Developers could apply PTBs beyond AI to multi-party settlements, conditional lending and composable DeFi strategies. Investors will be watching third-party adoption and whether the AP2 partnership generates measurable transaction volume.
