XCAD Network is gradually shutting down after five years, saying it has no funds left and will stop maintaining its products and services. The project said its account has been inactive since April and that it was among the few projects to operate for so long without a T1 exchange listing. Fan tokens failed to gain lasting traction as retail investors left the crypto market, while an attempted pivot toward AI influencers also failed. XCAD Network is considering releasing its code for community-run deployments, but said this would not mean the company is continuing or restarting. The project previously raised $3.9 million in a May 2021 private financing round led by Zilliqa.
