Ethereum led a broad crypto rally, rising nearly 19% over 24 hours at one point on Wednesday and about 18% over seven days, compared with bitcoin’s weekly gain of roughly 8.8%. Bitcoin crossed $70,000 for the first time since June, while more than $4 billion in short positions across crypto were liquidated during the two-day advance. Analysts said the rally may have further room to run, although its durability remains uncertain because liquidations amplified the move. The week also brought progress on U.S. crypto regulation, deeper use of stablecoin payments by traditional firms, healthier corporate crypto treasuries and attention around Anvil, an on-chain collateral layer based on programmable letters of credit.
