TWSE forum highlights NT$146.8 trillion market and listing opportunities

The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and KGI Securities jointly hosted the 2026 Quality Enterprises Capital Market Launch Forum on August 20 at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. The event offered large, medium and small enterprises face-to-face guidance on listing routes, market advantages and application procedures, along with real-time consultation services. Chen Yi-Cheng, manager of the TWSE Listing Department I, said Taiwan's total stock market capitalization was approximately NT$146.8 trillion, or about $4.6 trillion, placing the TWSE among the world's leading exchanges by market capitalization and average daily trading value. He said the exchange is working toward transforming Taiwan into an Asian Asset Management Center while adjusting regulations and cooperating with market participants to strengthen international competitiveness. KGI Securities Senior Vice President Chen Chuan-Tse said the market's scale reflects the resilience of Taiwanese companies and suggested Taiwan's industrial capacity leaves considerable room for further growth. The forum formed part of the TWSE's efforts to expand its pipeline of potential listings, alongside measures including relaxed Taiwan Innovation Board rules, shorter listing review timelines and stronger corporate governance requirements. KGI Securities said it would continue working with the TWSE to direct capital-market resources toward growth companies and support sustainable development. The TWSE said it would continue pursuing market innovation and international connectivity to increase Taiwan's influence in Asian and global financial markets.
