HD Hyundai Electric (267260) will showcase eco-friendly power technologies at CIGRE Paris Session 2026 in Paris from Aug. 23 to 28 as it expands in Europe. The company plans to present 72.5kV and 145kV gas-insulated switchgear, or GIS, alongside the 420kV GreenTric 550SRE, the first South Korean-developed SF6-free GIS model in its class and a voltage band used in more than half of Europe’s major power grids. The push comes as European Union rules on fluorinated greenhouse gases tighten, increasing pressure to replace sulfur hexafluoride, or SF6, which has more than 20,000 times the warming effect of carbon dioxide. HD Hyundai Electric will also host major European utilities and customers at a Seine River networking event on Aug. 25 to discuss the green energy transition, future grids and cooperation. The company expects European reference projects could strengthen its competitiveness in other regional markets as similar regulations spread.
