Upbit, South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, will open trading in Interfold’s FOLD token on Aug. 23 at 3:30 a.m. UTC, with Korean won, Bitcoin and USDT pairs. FOLD rose more than 67% in a short period to $0.1558, according to OKX market data, and the move may have been influenced by expectations surrounding Upbit’s planned listing. Interfold is developing a peer-to-peer decentralized data-storage and sharing network, with FOLD used for storage payments, node-operator incentives and governance. The listing could increase liquidity and exposure but may also bring volatility, speculation and manipulation risks.
