Pi Network is facing renewed speculation over a possible major Mainnet announcement on September 24, following claims attributed to community commentator Tien Pi. Community accounts are also watching the October 7–8 Token2049 event, where Pi Network is participating, for a possible ecosystem or Mainnet-related announcement. Neither date has been confirmed by the Pi Core Team. Separate claims that PayPal could support PI through its Pay with Crypto program alongside assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin and Solana also remain unverified; PayPal has not appeared on Pi Network’s KYB verification list. An earlier unofficial PayPal report was retracted after the channel behind it said PayPal was not KYB-verified, unlike OKX and MEXC. Separately, Pi Network changed app creation and editing fees on August 24 and outlined Pi Node version 0.6.2, including SoloHost, connectivity and Pi Desktop improvements. PI has remained volatile, rising from about $0.08 to nearly $0.10 before falling toward $0.085, then gaining about 14% from $0.086 to almost $0.096 as Bitcoin climbed from roughly $64,000 to nearly $80,000. Its market capitalization has returned to approximately $1.15 billion. A later account puts PI about 96% below its $2.98 all-time high from February 2025, compared with earlier coverage citing $2.99 and 97%.
