Slovenia’s unemployment rate edged down to 4.3% in June 2026 from 4.4% in May, matching the record low recorded in June 2025. The number of unemployed people fell 1.9% month-on-month to 42,245, with declines among both men and women. Unemployment decreased across all age groups, although people over 55 represented the largest share, followed by significant shares among those aged 30-39 and 40-49. The proportion of unemployed people with tertiary education increased to 18.5% from 18%, while first-time jobseekers accounted for 17.4%, down from 17.7%. The share of people unemployed for more than a year rose to 38.7%. Job vacancies increased to 15,000, the highest level since July 2025.
