Erik Prince has launched Vectus Air Defense Systems, a company focused on providing air defense as a service to sovereign governments and critical infrastructure operators. Vectus, in which Ukrainian drone software company Swarmer owns a 20% stake, will design, integrate and operate layered systems under multi-year agreements covering architecture, equipment, personnel, operations, management and maintenance. Swarmer will support advanced counter-UAS capabilities, including drone-interceptor swarming technology, while Vectus plans to combine technologies from the United States, Ukraine, Israel and other allied nations. The systems are intended to evolve as threats and defensive technologies change, with Swarmer contributing software tested in more than 100,000 combat missions in Ukraine since April 2024.
