The Cardano Foundation is partnering with the United Nations Development Programme’s Alternative Finance Lab to run the third cohort of the SDG Blockchain Accelerator, which matches UN development challenges with blockchain-based solutions. Applications open in July 2026 and close on September 30, followed by an acceleration phase from October 2026 through February 2027. The program’s focus areas include digital payments, identity management, supply chain traceability and data privacy. Earlier cohorts produced 46 implementation-ready solutions, with 70% embedded in national or regional programs. The initiative builds on a closer relationship between Cardano and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme): the Cardano Foundation became a founding member of the UNDP Blockchain Advisory Group on June 3, 2026, alongside approximately 26 other organizations. Its community-driven funding mechanism, Project Catalyst, previously helped finance a UNDP blockchain report featuring multiple use cases built on Cardano.
