MAGA Inc., the super PAC associated with US President Donald Trump, ended July with more than $403 million in cash after adding over $3 million, according to Federal Election Commission figures, while spending nothing on Republican candidates. Trump has separately said his broader political operation has about $850 million available and that he plans to spend much of it on Republican candidates he favors in the 2026 midterm elections. The PAC has made no independent expenditures this year apart from $18,000 in text messages for a Georgia special election in March. Republicans are increasingly concerned about Texas, where GOP Senate nominee Ken Paxton led Democrat James Talarico by one point in an Emerson College poll and the nonpartisan Cook Political Report shifted the race from lean Republican to toss-up. Trump endorsed Paxton in May after he defeated incumbent Sen. John Cornyn, a prolific fundraiser. MAGA Inc. says it will retain and expand Republican majorities but has not disclosed its spending plans or timing. Forecasters favor Democrats for the House and give Republicans a narrower Senate advantage. An August Emerson poll put Trump's approval rating at 40%, a four-month high. The New York Times separately reported that Elon Musk plans to spend $100 million to $120 million through America PAC to support at least eight Republican candidates.
