Nvidia has made a minority investment in Cloverleaf Infrastructure, a 2024-founded startup that secures electricity and powered land for data-center developers, confirming a strategic partnership first flagged in advanced talks for several hundred million dollars. Cloverleaf, which has sold more than 7 gigawatts of powered land to developers including Oracle and OpenAI and holds a pipeline above 10 gigawatts, will apply the Nvidia DSX platform to integrate site, power, cooling, computing and facility decisions earlier in design. The deal is Nvidia’s third recent infrastructure-power investment after stakes in Lancium and SoftBank’s SB Energy, with OpenAI appearing as an anchor tenant across the related campuses; earlier this week Nvidia also announced a $1.5 billion investment into SB Energy tied to an OpenAI-linked data center project in Ohio, underscoring the chipmaker’s bid for earlier influence over AI factory capacity amid persistent grid and interconnection bottlenecks.
