peaq, the layer-1 blockchain built for the machine economy, has integrated World ID into its peaqOS stack, giving robots and autonomous machines a privacy-preserving way to verify that users are genuine humans. Available through robotic.sh, the integration allows machines to request and verify World ID proofs without receiving a user's name, face or other identifying information. World ID uses cryptographic protocols, including iris verification through physical orb devices, to create anonymous proofs that a user is human and has not already created another identity. The system adds a human-facing identity layer to peaqOS, which manages machine identities, wallets, data access and coordination across multiple blockchain networks. The companies demonstrated the system with an autonomous pharmacy delivery robot that verified a patient before loading sensitive medication and again at delivery, confirming that the recipient matched the original order without revealing the patient's name. The integration can also support one-person-per-item limits, shared machines and other machine-to-human interactions where uniqueness matters more than a user's specific identity. According to World, the system requires neither an API key nor a per-verification fee.
