Starcloud has raised $250 million in a financing led by Manhattan West Ventures, lifting its valuation to $2.3 billion and total capital raised since its 2024 founding to $450 million. Nvidia invested about $25 million in the round, with Cisco, Benchmark, EQT and other backers also participating. The company was previously valued at $1.1 billion in March, when it raised $170 million. Starcloud says it is already operating Nvidia H100 data-center GPUs in orbit and has completed model training on that hardware, in contrast to most space-computing projects that rely on edge chips. It is working with Nvidia to supply test data for the Vera Rubin Space-1 GPU designed for orbital conditions. New capital will expand satellite manufacturing and advance the next-generation Starcloud-3 orbital data-center satellite. Starcloud is targeting 88,000 satellites and about 20 gigawatts of orbital compute capacity, while CEO Philip Johnston has also discussed plans to mine Bitcoin in space.
