Ankr introduced RPC infrastructure for the XRP Ledger (XRPL) on August 21, 2026, giving enterprises, financial institutions and developers access to the network without operating their own nodes. Developed in partnership with the XRP Ledger Foundation, the service supports 43 methods across XRPL mainnet and testnet, including payment channels, decentralized exchange operations and cross-currency settlements. Ankr’s nodes are deployed in Singapore, New York, Amsterdam and San Francisco to reduce latency, while its verifiable RPC technology is designed to let users confirm that node responses have not been tampered with. The service uses a freemium model, with a free tier supporting up to 30 requests per second and premium plans offering dedicated endpoints, higher throughput and enterprise support. The rollout expands access to XRPL’s protocol-level financial functions, including payment channels, a native decentralized exchange, cross-currency settlement, multi-signing and escrow. XRPL has operated since 2012, settles transactions in 3-5 seconds and charges fees measured in fractions of a cent. The launch comes ahead of the anticipated xrpld version 3.3.0 upgrade, which proposes five amendments focused on privacy, settlement capabilities and institutional features. The announcement produced no significant immediate movement in XRP’s price. Ankr’s XRPL integration also extends its multi-chain RPC strategy and broadens its services for institutional users exploring Ripple’s ecosystem, while XRPL and its XRPL EVM sidechain recently gained support from Axelar for transfers of supported assets across connected blockchain networks.
